Melbourne Cup FAQs

  • Can we tentatively put our name down so you keep some tickets on the side?
    • As we were sold out within a few weeks in both 2017 and 2018 we unfortunately can’t keep tentative tickets on the side.
  • Can we buy more tickets later?
    • Yes, however this remains subject to availability; we sold out within a few weeks in both 2017 and 2018.
  • Can we reserve an area?
    • All ticket purchases are general admission and tables will be available on a first come first serve basis. There will however be plenty of standing and seating space available. The doors open at 12pm and we recommend that the biggest part of your group is present at that time to secure yourselves an area.
  • Will you be running a sit-down lunch event as well?
    • The standing canapé event will be the only style of event that day.
  • Will you be offering beverage packages?
    • Beverages can be ordered and paid for at the bar on consumption, or you can set up a bar tab on the day. Alternatively, if you wish to limit the drinks that will be available to be ordered by your group you can e-mail info@nolasydney.com at least one working day prior and we can create a limited selection for you. Fixed beverage packages that run for the duration of the event will not be available.
  • Will you be able to cater to dietary requirements?
    • Kindly pass on any dietary requirements at least 72hrs prior to the event and we endeavour to cater to them all. Please pass on the names of guests with dietary requirements so this can be noted on the guest list for the day.
  • Will there be table-service?
    • Unless your group books the above-mentioned French Quarter lounge exclusively, drinks can be ordered at the main bar however canapés will be roving around from 12pm until 3.30pm.
  • Can we bring in our own decoration or branding?
    • Unless your group books the above-mentioned French Quarter lounge exclusively, we unfortunately do not allow any decoration or branding to be brought into the venue.
  • Will there be TAB facilities available?
    • The closest TAB facilities in previous years were located just outside the venue at the waterfront and we have not been advised of a change of plans for this year.
